I love to communicate and depict stories in a way that is striking and yet relatable.

Emotions are at the heart of what makes an illustration a powerful examination into what life is. So, when I work on a story, I get “under the skin” to find what drives the actions and events that are occurring in the storyline.

Art is the lie that reveals the truth
— Pablo Picasso

I believe that fiction is a reflection of our perception of the world. Fictional stories help us process our lives. In my teenage years, I experienced a lot of trauma, and was unable to face it directly to confront the issues that came up. However, the stories I read, watched, and saw in creative works helped me process that trauma indirectly, presenting the issues I was struggling with as a different story that I could observe and examine from a safe point of view. These stories and art pieces provided new perspectives and new ways of seeing the world that I never would have considered otherwise.

Art is a universal language that can be kind or brutal. It speaks far more clearly than words ever could. People naturally take down their mental barriers when they look at art or listen to stories (although, because of that, there have been cases where people considered art and stories to be threatening).

Connection, love, compassion, honesty—that’s what I try to depict in my art.

to truth,
